If you think about it, the violence in both the middle east and Europe in the past four years has been to do with rogue governments trying to claim their neighbours' land. The fact of the Russian incursion is well understood. the Middle east incursion has been more subtle, with Israel slowly taking their neighbours land through settlements, also encouraged by a rogue government. The UN Security Council does have power to stop these incursions and so prevent wars. It just needs its structure to be reformed to enforce the decisions of say 70% of members. This would have avoided the farcical situation where the countries that are starting the wars, or their close allies, have a right of veto (one vote against kills all votes in favor) . All countries should press for this obvious reform.
