Anthropic, a major AI developer, gives us the people of the world the latest of a million warnings our planet has given us that the people of the world need to get their shit together. Anthropic argues that individual companies that are growing potentially out of control AI models cannot safely pause the development of artificial intelligence all by themselves, due to market dynamics. You pause and others do not, you lose. They propose an international framework modelled after Cold War-era nuclear nonproliferation treaties. If they even want it, who doesn't?
