Tree planting subsidies and more

Further to the idea that someone posted last week about a tax benefit for tree planters, why not go still further? We can now track tree planting and growing with smart cameras, and download results. It would be great if governments ramp up incentives, with some new policies. - Maybe tax breaks or even financial rewards for farmers who rehabilitate sections of their land with native flora. - Maybe mandatory tree planting work by prisoners or people doing community service; - government school tree planting excursions, and generally including botany in more government school curricula. - Governments could offer the public $10 for tree grown over 5 years with a certain standard of proof needing to be met eg photos downloaded after say 1 month one year and 5 years of growth. Sure all this would cost governments money, but the cost of global ecological collapse that is going to occur if governments do nothing is much greater for governments everywhere. And yes it is true that under a pay per tree program, some people would go nuts and identify appropriate land and plant 10,000 trees just to make money. Great.
