Artificial Intelligence and Tree Planting projects
Trees are one way of sequestering carbon.
There are already thousands of projects across the globe that are attempting to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss through the planting of trees.
Critical to the success of these and new projects are the type of tree that is best suited to an area.
Drones already have a role in many projects by dispersing seeds in a cost effective way.
Can AI also be used to support these projects? I am thinking through identifying where the climate and biodiversity will obtain best bang for their buck with what trees,
Accepting such 'AI produced' information will need to be 'scientist checked', and of course it will be imperfect, this might still be one way we can use AI?
