At the moment, we use Artificial Intelligence to replace work. In the future, we should use artificial intelligence to help create jobs: AI will be able to identify those things that need to be done to improve society. For example, AI might figure out that planting trees of particular kids in particular places might be the fastest way to addressing climate change. If such solutions were consistent with scientific knowledge, then fleets of people (whose jobs might have been taken by AI) might be deployed to do that work.
