I believe there is a strong chance that if we all spoke a common language, the world would be more empathetic. Particularly towards those going through war and hardship, who otherwise seem "worlds away" but are actually just people, like us, equal to us, no more no less. In an increasingly disconnected world, a common language could be something to bring us closer together. With obvious practical benefits too. And, if you have seen Plur1bus yet, you will see the benefits in the event of global catastrophe. So my idea is we all start learning the basics of Esperanto :)
