Pain and the Power of Distraction

In an experiment, children in a burns unit at a hospital who suffered excruciating pain at the time of bandage change, each day, were given a headset with a video game that had them skiing down a hill collecting objects and dodging obstacles. This was a substitute for pain killers, because they had becoming unwell due to the large amounts of pain killers they had to takes. The children playing the video fame reported feeling almost no pain while their bandages were being changed. I am wondering whether some start up could develop videos to fit the interests of different people who experience intense pain in the community for use in all sorts of environments, including the dentist chair, or even at home. This kind of distraction might be temporary, but any relief from intense pain is something I am sure a lot of people who are suffering would appreciate.
