BCIs must be regulated

Brain Computer Interface devices need global regulation When the inventor of a device warns of its potential to compromise human security, that is a good time to listen. Brain computer interfaces (BCIs) developed by neurologist Tom Oxley and his team are now being used to allow non communicative disabled people to express themselves through thought alone. He can see the potential of AI algorithms to exponentially accelerate the BCI chip technology to the point where we may soon be able to read people brains both the conscious and the unconscious, and not only that, influence them. At the moment, controls on the potential of these quasi medical developments are left with the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by default. This is issue number 100 that needs global regulation by an organized global regulatory body informed by expert panels, adopted by all governments. Sound boring? OK then, I guess we could wait until you are affected by the actions of a humanoid, and then regulate. Right? Nah. Lets not wait! Vote for global regulatory oversight of BCIs, here.
