It is not too big an ask for all of us in the world to multitask on this one thing: Be proud of your country and be a global citizen. If we all did that, we might save the planet. There is nothing inconsistent about closing your borders to illegal immigration and being a responsible 'global citizen' as a country at the same time - being anti-war, being pro global regulation on global matters like AI controls, atmosphere pollution and space endeavours. It is not that hard. The people of the world just need to remember they are global citizens at the very same time as being a member of their family, football club and country. It can be done easily. Just think about it for a second, though we are not trained to do that.
