Leadership on the Environment
World leaders could take a leaf from the Greta Thunberg playbook and show a bit of real leadership on saving the environment.
Where is the passion, the energy, the anger and the determination from our world leaders on confronting climate change policy?
We have record-breaking global temperatures, with 2024 being the warmest year on record, exceeding pre-industrial levels by 1.5°C. Research is now conclusive that the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are melting rapidly, potentially leading to catastrophic sea-level rise even if warming is limited to 1.5°C.
Yet we are producing more emissions in 2025 than any previous year?
Why are we electing numbats who do not read the science?
It is time to elect true 'conservatives'- leaders with a passion for conserving the planet, and make sure there is at least a chance that our children and grandchildren may not have to live with the dire consequences of our rampant overconsumption of polluting energy, unchecked by sensible government policy.
