Countries have a right to make whatever trade laws they want. But also there is a World Trade Organization WTO that is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. It aims to ensure that trade flows smoothly, predictably and freely ultimately contributing to improved global welfare. So why not this: You can break the rules of the WTO. But equally, the rest of the world can choose not to trade with you if you do. Problem solved. if there was one in the first place.
