Tariffs
Tariffs and and other insular policies are great for globalism.
Hear me out:
The biggest threat to a future harmonious world is ecological catastrophe.
The more goods that are produced at home, the less fossil fuel will be used in transporting things from one place to another to be consumed. Look, I bought some really small food stuff the other day that was packaged and sent from the other side of the world. It only cost a couple of bucks. But think of the energy and emissions used to make the product, package it and transport it to me.
The other thing about buying local is that if there is a worldwide internet disaster, which my or may not come along, then we will have all our produce available nearby.
