Protect soil on a global scale
According to the UN, more than 1/3 of the world’s soil is endangered by agriculture and construction and we lost fertile top soil at a rate of 30 soccer pitches per minute. Soil is crucial to growing our food, is incredibly rich in CO2, hence contributes to keeping global temperatures down, and takes thousands of years to regenerate.
We need to be mindful of the health of our soil and push policies in place to ensure sustainable farming practices, reduce erosion, limit pollution, and monitor soil health to ensure these measures are working.
