World view too humancentric

Jeff Sebo in his recent book 'The Moral Circle' makes a point that we could all take on board: We now have a vast amount of scientific evidence that our fellow travellers on this planet, animals of all kinds, very often think, plan, grieve and feel pain just like we do. Just because we are not 100% sure exactly how they feel, because we can't be, doesn't mean we should discount their feelings. After all, we aren't sure how other people feel much of the time, but we use our best judgment to try and make sure we don't hurt them too much. Lets do the same with animals. Lets not use the excuse that we don't know how they feel to pretend they do not have feelings.
