Many would argue there should be no world order. After all, what is wrong with just looking after your own back yard? Alas, it is becoming apparent, in this interconnected world those from afar can affect our personal security very deeply. Therefore, world governance of some kind is necessary for your personal safety and welfare, whether we like it or not. Now, you may leave it to others to sort out. But in doing so, you risk being governed by the whims of the self interested powerful. Democracy, in the global context, does not mean "one person, one vote". It means improving processes for resolving common problems, through common sense (global) community driven processes. Not solving problems by the whims of megalomaniacs. The United Nations may or may not be the vehicle for improved global governance. All people of the world consulting with each other through the social media is the logical starting point to improved world order.
