Nobody can deny the wheels were spinning on the global governance bus before Trump and Putin. And to be fair nobody was driving the bus before them. Now the driver’s seat is occupied by these two gentlemen, and they are intending to drive it in a certain direction, perhaps this might be the prod to the rest of us on the bus need to lift our gaze from our phones and organize ourselves. 1. Do we want to be subject of dictators from other nations? 2, If not there are three questions: do we want global democracy? 3. Where we want to go? Who do we want at the wheel? I would answer = 1, Yes; 2. to a future that preserves our personal and environmental security; and 3. through institutions guided by expertise not personalities. If this is what we, the people of the world want, we need to start talking.
