Dear Doomscrollers and the Woke, Congratulations on keeping yourself informed, and for caring!! It is not easy reading through the large volumes of information out there that actually describe the state of the planetary ecosystems, so that you can make informed decisions as to how to live and vote. "Cool" people have allocated the name "doomscrolling " to your activities. You can see why, of course. It is because the news as regards the future of our planetary systems is ALL negative. But anyway you and I know both know you are being labelled a pessimist just for keeping yourself informed. And to then communicate in any way the science to other people means you will be described as 'Woke' - which should mean you have your eyes open. (Good for you!!) Except that unfortunately a section of the community who find your communication of such information unpalatable has weaponised the word against you, and turned the word 'woke' into a term of derision. Bummer. So if you are are a doomscroller and woke , you have sure lost the label wars! But you have my total respect,.
