printing emails - one page only

Whenever I print emails at work, the whole email chain comes out, which might go for several pages. Yet I only intend to print the most recent communication, which is usually less than a page. I can control it, but I always forget. If my computer automatically printed only the most recent page in an email chain, unless told to do otherwise, that would probably save a few hundred pages of unneccessary printing in my office each year. If all computers did that, I'm guessing it could be the equivalent of saving a pretty large forest annually. Should POW ask the big computer makers to make computers print out the most recent email page only, unless you tell the computer you want to do otherwise?
