Be water conscious

Are you conscious of your water usage? Some of us need to be more so than others. Those of us who do especially need to be, are told things like "have shorter showers" and "turn the tap off when you brush your teeth" and even sometimes "if its yellow let it mellow..." These help and should be encouraged (maybe not the last one, in my household anyway). But there are other ways we can be reduce our water footprints, too. Mainly by being conscious about the water used to produce the things that we consume. It takes approximately 7.5 thousand litres of water to grow enough cotton for a pair of jeans. Hence, buy second hand! Animals of course require a lot of water to survive (to then be slaughtered for meat), hence, cut down on meat! Coffee, chocolate and vanilla beans are also water intensive to produce. I'm not saying anyone has to cut down on any of these, but we should all do research into the water that goes into producing our consumables and use this information to make educated choices about what (and how much) we consume.
