Well, it is now clear enough - at least if not to you, it will be to your grandchildren, when they are old - that what is missing today is simple: international governance that works. Yes as much as we like to be rebels in our personal lives, what is missing is a 'rules based world'. Here is the thing: It turns out that we – all of us - need these six things to secure the future of ourselves and our grandchildren, and indeed ourselves: Good local governance systems – tick Good well meaning local people – tick Good national governance systems – tick Good well meaning national politicians - I say tick Good international governance systems – cross Good and well meaning international people - tick Five ticks are not enough. In this modern interconnected world, we need all 6. At this last minute before midnight on the doomsday clock, we need the sixth tick to save our bacon. That much is plain. So do not not be ashamed of wanting a rules based world! Embrace it. Advocate for it. FIGHT FOR IT! Your great grandfathers charged out of trenches with bayonets to fight for YOUR freedom.
