Your neighbours, whether they are from another political party, a foreign country, or the prison down the road are just like you. It is important to remember, when we are told by leaders to demonise other people, that we remember that they are appealing to our basest tribalism, which is not our best suit in this modern age, and that those people are just like us. Nobody's humanity deserves to be recognized by reference to the rhetoric of a person who is in leadership. No people's lives are worth less than yours.
