2024 must be the death knell of the United Nations Security Council structure. Created in 1945 for the promotion of global security, the UN is now doing the opposite. It is protecting the permanent members of the Security Council from consequences for their actions. This is because there can be no enforcement of a UN resolution without unanimous Security Council endorsement. The events of the last few weeks are the final straw. Bzzzt.
