According to the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research in Germany, the 1.5 degree Paris Aspiration ship has already sailed. They say 'lets assume all current government policies presently in place to reduce future emissions are largely met'. and conclude we are at best heading for 1.6 degree minimum global temperature rise. This must be frightening to anyone who is alive to the nuances of tipping points that can lead to runaway catastrophic global heating. But on we go, as if the news does not matter. And we all know that we will be lucky if half the promises made by governments are met, anyway. All is lost? Not yet. Keep fighting, those of you who care.
