Increasingly major building projects in Europe are using cross laminated timer - wood. The advantages are said to include: lighter than traditional building materials so simpler for transporting materials and cheaper ; and require less heavy lifting machinery once on site; good acoustically; good thermally; and incredibly appeasing to the soul of the occupants or office workers, as people are more comfortable surrounded by wood than metal or concrete. they are also said to have a carbon footprint around 50% of cother building materials. More expensive now, probably, but the price will come down if more people us it.
