To increase accessibility to food banks and reduce the barrier to donation, pick-up services should be offered. Such a system could be readily integrated to already-existing rideshare or delivery services such as Uber, Lyft etc. A government subsidy (+ or - some charity work by these large corporations) could mean drivers are paid for their work and the system does not have to rely on volunteers. This is a worthwhile investment for any government given the good health of its peoples (which heavily dependent on their access to good food) yields savings in the long term.
