Age limit on political leaders?
OK, so you probably can guess why I am raising this one.
To be fair, older people have more experience, which weighs in their favour, BUT:
1. There is science that brains become less 'plastic' and more rigid, in their thinking as they get older, and, well, the world is changing fast;
2. Old people have less understanding of technology and the power of the internet, and progressive governance ideally maximise the use of technology;
3. In other jobs of less consequence there is often an age limit
4. It is the younger generation that will live with the consequences of many decisions that are made today
I accept that it is discriminatory to prevent someone from running for office due to age. BUT given the pace of change in society, age of candidate should SURELY be a relevant factor in groups of people deciding who leads in this day and age.
