Another reason to think global

Certain countries have noticed their aging populations are leading them to a future of lower GDP and more pressure on the younger generations to provide the services and money to look after the old. This is leading them to provide incentives to their citizens to have more children. This is bad for the earth as a whole. What is bad for the earth as a whole is bad for all of us. According to some economists, immigration in the USA has been associated with poorer economic outcomes during some periods in its history. In Australia, that is not the case. Every large influx of migrants over the past 150 years has been followed by economic prosperity. This idea is that countries should think about bringing people in from overpopulated countries, even refugee camps overseas, rather than trying to drive population growth through encouraging more babies. It is not an idea that anyone should be made to do this. Only that they think about it.
