Regulating genetic modification
The ability to genetically modify organisms is quite "cool", but needs serious regulation to ensure its done safely and ethically, across borders. An international board could help to establish proper protocol and coordinate research efforts, with a focus on transparency. Such a board should be inclusive and respect the sovereignty of individual nations and their decision making: this could be tricky to negotiate, but is worthwhile. After all, if GMO'd E coli can be trained to play naughts and crosses... what else could come of our GMO practices?
