Sleep shapes

Does anyone else see complicated patterns and shapes when they are nearly asleep? Kind of in the dark on the back of your eyelid, and kind of in your brain? I see them sometimes only. Sometimes the patterns and shapes that emerge are so intricate, that it makes me realize our brains are a mathematical tool of infinite genius compared to our, lets say, 'executive' selves. There is no way that I could deliberately acquire the knowledge that would enable me to create such shapes and patterns by logical thought. It is clear to me that the human brain leaps to outcomes independently of our choosing. It just produces miracles - novel events and scenarios. These miracles are not a product of our cleverness or our work, they are clearly enough a product of biology and quantum physics, from whichever realm the latter emerges. That probably applies to a lot of things our brains do, not just producing new shapes in the dark. I doubt we will either be able to replicate the brain's functioning or preserve our brains for ever, such is the intricacy of these fleeting patterns.
