Leaders should be limited to one term in office to limit any one or a select few from amassing significant power over time. Also the turnover of power allows fresh perspectives: new solutions to long-standing issues? All in all the idea is that the focus of the leader becomes on the needs of the country and not reelection. Term limits can mitigate the risks of concentrated power, including corruption.
