After doing nothing but stoke controversy for its first year of public consumption, AI is now starting to kick some goals. In this last month we learned: AI can predict a 10 day weather forecast in any part of the world with more accuracy than standard models on their own (ECMWF), and AI has figured out a catalyst for producing oxygen on Mars (UST, China). More AI means more solutions. More AI could still dig us out of our climate change hole and we should be throwing money at it.
