There is a lot of talk about fossils fuels having limited lifespans yet at present they are still so cheap to buy that not enough investment is being channelled into research into alternate new energy sources. I propose that a global research and investment body is established to propogate new energy initiatives funded by taxes imposed on the large fossil fuel miners which will need to be approved by participating nations. The energy crisis of the 70's will happen again and current alternative energies such as biofuels, solar, wind, hydrogen, nuclear, thermal energies/technologies cannot provide what we need in the next 30 years.
