At the moment, constitutional law making is by reference only to the best interests of people. I would like to see our constitutions and governments formally acknowledge our responsibility to other species as well. Not just because we rely on animals for a healthy society for people. But because our actions affect the lives and feelings of individuals that belong to species that are not homo sapiens, as well.
