I have seen people protest the idea of global governance. I am of the opinion that most of these people fail to take the time to consider that governance is layered and does not involve imposing restrictions at the level of the individual. If global governance means having a core body that have legitimate power to intervene in circumstances of human rights crises- how does that take away ones freedom? Surely naysayers on the internet are not the perpetrators of mass scale human rights violations, and therefore, should not be affected (nor should protest it). Other regulations enforced by such a body would be in the interest of mankind - we clearly need a collective approach to tackling global threats. An "each to their own" climate change approach demonstrably fails epically. I see global governance as mankind working together. If working together is in fact the solution to dealing with our global problems, then let us talk about how to best do this, rather than scaring each other with conspiracy speak.
