Total global military expenditure increased by 0.7 per cent in real terms in 2021, to reach $2113 billion, or over two trillion US dollars, per year. We need to call a truce. We should all just shake hands and call a truce. Or, if that is too unbearable for some, then a moratorium on military spending for just 10 years, while we clean up the planet. Then we can all pick up where we left off.
