Perpetual material growth unfeasible in a world with finite resources
There are many people in the world living in poverty - clearly "more" (income/energy/housing/clean water etc.) would increase their quality of life in many basic ways. But should this process of growth go on forever? Capitalism says yes, the reality of our situation says no. Perpetual material growth on a planet with finite resources is unsustainable. We should strive to create a society where our definition of prosperity is enriching the human spirit and kids are encouraged to serve society rather than to compete with peers for high-paying jobs.
