Metaverse is a mirage
So much for the metaverse.
Facebook share value has halved since refocusing on global domination through some parallel computer metaverse; crypto has crashed; and computer game sales are down since the 'end' of the pandemic.
Sure, I accept the Metaverse will come - that day when we choose to be where we want, when we want, doing what we want, through some form of augmented reality. But talk of a metaverse is on my reckoning about, say, a millennium early. For now, it is just a mirage on the horizon.
Technological change is incremental.
It still takes me 10 minutes to type in a show search on my TV.
Any talk of a metaverse is way premature.
