This idea is that Google can save the world. Here is how: As we all know, greenhouse gas emissions across the globe are continuing to rise each year, despite the fact they need to plummet (latest science suggests by 43% by 2030) to avoid catastrophic climate change. Imagine if, every time we googled something, the (otherwise usually blank) Google search screen contained a graph of global emissions. One that shows where we are and where we need to be. Emissions reduction needs to be on all our minds, constantly, if we are going to shift the needle enough to stop catastrophic climate change and therefore make life on this planet OK for countless generations to follow ours. This is one really important way Google can help nudge us towards achieving the greatest goal of all for this generation - the goal of saving the world.
