Democracies aren't perfect. Not everyone will get what they want in a democracy. But you do see, in democracies, as opposed to other kinds of government: less corruption because those in power are eventually held to account; freedom of information; freedom of the press; protection of minorities; you see older statesmen moved on when they start to want to impose their personal visions on the rest of the world. Messy, imperfect, always struggling. But long live democracies. Vote one for democracy.
