Single Use Plastics ?
Sup? Global plastic waste is projected to triple by 2060: OECD A world severely blighted by plastic pollution is on track to see the use of plastics nearly triple in less than four decades, according to newly released findings. Annual production of fossil fuel-based plastics is set to top 1.2 billion tonnes by 2060 and waste to exceed 1 billion tonnes, according to a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on Friday. The report said this increase will be driven by economic and population growth, the largest increases are expected in emerging economies in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Places like China and Europe that have taken giant leaps to limiting plastic by banning single use plastics now need to help the more backward countries to pass the same laws and to manage their plastic, too. It starts by people showing they care about these things. You can show you care by voting for more action on reducing plastics everywhere, here.
