Population update

The current population of World in 2022 is 7,953,952,567, a 1% increase from 2021. The population of World in 2021 was 7,874,965,825, a 1.03% increase from 2020. The population of World in 2020 was 7,794,798,739, a 1.05% increase from 2019. So, we are bringing the rate of increase down. But it is still going up, and will be 8 billion in a minute, if it is not already. While Covid has done its best to reduce our numbers, we should remember China's one child policy has ended, and we are getting better and better at health, meaning better survival rates around the world. China deserved more global respect that it received for its one child policy that it ran from 1980 to 2016. This was a sacrifice made by the Chinese people for their country but also for the globe, and was underappreciated during its time. I am not advocating for more of that. But now, in many countries such as Japan, South Korea, Russia, Iran, Italy, Spain, Finland Hungary and Estonia, governments are advocating that their constituents have more children. This might be helpful for their economies, but it is not helpful to the planet. Perhaps they can look at a level of selective immigration to bolster their numbers. After all, there are plenty of people to go around.
