In most western countries, some decades ago it was decided that food waste should not be fed to pigs, as it was unsafe and unhygienic. That should be revisited. Apparently 30% of all food being produced is going to waste. Given what we know today about waste and the need to use resources more efficiently, we need to look at ways of getting food waste back into pigs, chickens etc.
