Peanut allergies

This idea is that when infants are 6 months of age their mothers be texted a reminder that feeding their child a crumb of peanut will likely reduce their chances of having a peanut allergy later in life. The current science is that this works for high allergy risk infants as well as those who are not. High allergy risk children, in particular, are five times less likely to develop a peanut allergy if they are exposed to them in their first year. And as we know, a peanut allergy can be fatal. Of course, it would need to be affirmed by a health regulator if it was to become policy. But if a simple text can save a few lives, maybe its worth thinking about.
