Australia can power Asia

The Sun Cable consortium is shortly to launch one of the largest scale intercontinental power infrastructure projects in the world. When built, solar power from Australia will be feeding into the Singapore electricity grid as well as other communities closer by. Governments don't fund these projects, but they can provide more and more infrastructure and subsidies to make them more and more viable. (as they have done with coal, oil and gas for generations). My idea is that the Australian government should 'over the top' (ie more than coal and gas) support this project and this industry to the point where other new entrepreneurs will be able to profit from building adjacent solar farms, to feed electricity into more and more communities, such as larger cities in Indonesia.
