It seems seaweed eating goats produce less methane than, say, a grain fed cow. Next time I go to the supermarket, in good conscience I will be looking for a kind of kelp for my dinner that is not of the variety that seaweed eating goats like, because I want to do good for the environment. Or, I could vote in politicians who will enact policies for society to switch to renewables fast, and just shop normally. That will work, but only if other people do too. It seems that the extent of my personal sacrifices over the next two decades will depend on the palate of seaweed eating goats, or, on how other people vote. Hopefully my idea goes without saying.
