Citizen Science Needs a Headquarters

These days there are thousands of citizen science projects going on around the world at any one time- where people can download an app or visit a website to record data for someone's project. It might be to note the kind of or numbers of bees or certain plants in your area, or the kind of rubbish at a local beach, or to record the croaks of frogs in your area for the researcher. Wouldn't it be good if there was a citizens science 'headquarters' where people could register the fact of their citizen science project. That way, the researchers would know about other projects that might overlap, and be able to share information. And, they could promote their project by registering it with that organization. People who want to engage in citizen science could then also go to the headquarters to find projects that interest them.
