Democracy was a redundant idea from when it was created. A euphemism for both mob rule and corruption (read Machiavelli for a blueprint of power, control, government rule etc). We know it to be true so why do we continue with it? Universal democracy only works when the vox populi are adequaqtely informed and psychologically well -rounded (see comments on education) In the meantinme we will have to rely on meritocracy, technocracy and bureaucracy
