Hollywood has for years pitted the US against Russia as mortal enemies, and, coincident or not, this is/is about to play out. Hollywood has, in recent decades, also increasingly pushed global apocalypse narratives onto our screens, generally with the sun coming our after one dude saves the world. I am not saying they are deliberately contributing to anything bad, but these narratives do subliminally sink into people's psyches, and subtly affect our expectations. How about a raft of new Hollywood movies demonstrating how coordinated systemic change can fix the world, just so we don't fall into the trap of letting things get too far out of hand while we wait for a superhero.
