The war in Ukraine deserves all the media that it gets. The Other War is no less dangerous and, as it affects most of us and our children more directly, deserves no less media. We know the Canadian wildfires have affected the air quality of hundreds of millions of people. But that seems to be whether the media stops. Less publicized is the acceleration it gives to global climate change, and the smashing of non-human species who cannot speak to us about their catastrophe. There are firefighters from all over the world on the front lines of these fires, risking their lives. This is not a criticism of the media, but maybe the media could publicize their heroics and casualties a bit more, a bit like they do with the front lines of the War in Ukraine.
