My name is Kirsten, I'm 14 years old, and I am a feminist. :)
I think it's very important for young men and women to be educated about themselves and the environment around them, have a clear conscious, and make informed decisions for themselves. As a teen myself, I think that our generation is often turning a lot more ignorant and immature. I feel that they are becoming...uncaring, as you may put it. I think it's very important for us to restore value in everyday things.
As a feminist, I get a lot of backlash against what I believe in. People like to assume that I neglect men, when, in truth, I never knew hating men was a part of feminism until they accused me of it. I find it very sad that some feminists rub dirt on our reputation. I stand for choice and equality in gender, race, sexual orientation, age, income, and religion. I believe that it is okay for people to not believe in feminist values.
